Lasso and RosettaCode.org Contest
Win $1000!
We are running a Contest for the month of November, and giving away a $1000 (Canadian) prize to the person who can add the most Lasso programming examples to the Rosetta Code site. Note - only one example is ever displayed, so you'll need to work fast. We acknowledge that fast isn't always 'best' so you can edit another persons Lasso example and still gain brownie points towards the prize.
You don't have to be a code 'guru' to win. Simply apply yourself to the best of your available time and abilities. Be the early bird and get something better than a worm.
We'll award the $1000 CAD based on a points system. Earn 5 brownie points per example, and 2 brownie points per example improvement (excluding improvements to your own example).
Points System:
- 5 points for a first entry in a Task
- 4 points for a first entry on a Draft Task
- 3 points for a secondary entry on a Task (or Draft Task)
- 2 points for cleaning or improving an existing Task Entry's code
- 1 point for cleaning up or administrating cleanliness on someone else's task (spacing, output, etc.)
*Maximum 5 points per Task entry.
Rules:

- The competition is open from now until 11:59:59pm November 30th (ET) http://rosettacode.org/wiki/System_time
- You must follow the rules on RosettaCode.org
- For every new example you add for a "Task" currently without an example, you get 5 points.
- If you improve the code (meaningfully less lines of code throughout, significantly faster processing, etc., without harming readability for new developers), you get 2 points.
- Add an example to a "Draft Task", and get 4 points.
- Add a secondary example to an existing (As Perl-heads would say "there's more than one way to do it"), and get 3 points. You only get points for one example per Task - additional points are for others to add their own examples.
- Clean up an entry - spacing, formatting, etc. - let's make sure sure we leave their site clean and professional - the best possible representation of Lasso code possible - and get 1 point.
- You need to count your own points. We will check the largest claims and determine the winner.
- The code needs to work in Lasso 9. You can write it in Classic Lasso, but it needs to work in 9.
- If you didn't write it, please don't post it - that's against the laws of copyright. Send it to the person who wrote it to post it - that's just plain appropriate and ethical. Or post it with attribution, and don't claim the points.
- Once the examples/tasks are complete (692 total), the contest ends, on or before the end of November - whichever comes first.
- The winner will be notified via email by the last Sunday of December which we will determine by http://rosettacode.org/wiki/Find_the_last_Sunday_of_each_month.

When making changes please comment on what the change was in the "summary" so we see what was done rather than guess - the same sort of thing that you do with SVN or git commits!

All contestants are additionally requested to do their best to:
- Take time to understand the task.
- Give output where requested or where a lot of other examples show output.
- Check their answers against those of other languages.
