Lasso Professional 8.6 & FileMaker Server 11 for IIS 7 on 64-bit Windows

Lasso Professional 8 and FileMaker Server 11 can be hosted on a single 64-bit Windows machine running IIS. However, Lasso and FileMaker require their own individual websites due to Lasso using a 64-bit connector while FileMaker uses a 32-bit connector.

Configure Lasso and FileMaker

Follow these steps:

Install IIS

• Win 2008
  • Open 'Server Manager'
  • Select 'Roles' node
  • Scroll to 'Roles Summary
  • Click 'Add Roles'
  • Check 'Web Server (IIS)'
  • Follow through installation wizard
• Win 7
  • Open 
  • Click 'Programs'
  • Click 'Turn Windows features on or off'
  • Check 'Internet Information Services'
  • Follow through installation wizard

Install FileMaker Server

• Use Deployment Assistant to configure IIS
• Follow these instructions only if you plan on sharing web root
  • Remove 'web.config' file placed in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\
  • Add ISAPI filter
    • Select server node (not a Site)
    • Select 'ISAPI Filters'
    • Click 'Add'
      • Filter Name: FM Web Publishing
      • Executable: - C:\Program Files (x86)\FileMaker\FileMaker Server\Web Publishing\publishing-engine\web-server-support\iis\isapi_redirect.dll
    • Click 'OK'
  • Select 'ISAPI and CGI Restrictions'
    • Click 'Add'
      • ISAPI or CGI Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\FileMaker\FileMaker Server\Web Publishing\publishing-engine\web-server-support\iis\isapi_redirect.dll
      • Description: FM Web Publishing
      • Check 'Allow extension path to execute'
    • Click 'Ok'

​Install Lasso Professional 8.6

• Choose Custom Installation
• Unselect IIS features
  • IIS Connector
  • IIS Connector (WIN64)
• Configure IIS
  • Create new Website
  • Assign new website its own Application Pool
  • Follow instructions for configuring IIS for Lasso
    • http://www.lassosoft.com/Lasso-Professional-Server-86-Windows-Installation
  • Select newly created site node
    • Select 'ISAPI Filters'
    • Remove 'FMIPHP' ISAPI Filter
    • If you added the 'FM Web Publishing' ISAPI Filter to the server node
      • Remove 'FM Web Publishing' ISAPI Filter
  • Edit Application Pool for new site
    • Select Application Pool
    • Click Advanced Settings
    • Set "Enable 32-bit Applications' to False
